QUEZON CITY (PIA) — Palace Press Officer and Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary Claire Castro warned the public of scams and fake news linking to the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF) and the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) led by the Office of the President.
During the Palace press briefing on Thursday, Undersecretary Castro said that the government will not ask for any fees from local government units (LGUs) to be able to get their budget.

She urged LGUs to remain cautious of individuals who may come to visit them.
She also encouraged LGUs to directly report to the Office of the President any issues and concerns related to the LGSF and SCPF.
The LGSF and SCPF serve as essential elements in the Marcos Jr. administration’s initiatives to bolster support for LGUs and communities. This includes a P200,000 budget allocation for each city and municipality through the Bawat Bayan Makikinabang program, which is divided between local development and safety projects as well as educational scholarships for students.
